A summary of my doctoral dissertation was published in the May 2018 edition of Percusive Notes.
My doctoral dissertation, completed under the supervision of Vanessa Tomlinson, Peter Roennfeldt, and Nicholas Ng, explored the possibilities of adapting music based on timbre, rather than pitch. I used Cage's Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano as my case study, and presented my original adaptation of this piece as part of my dissertation. The music is not publicly available due to copyright restrictions. However, the text is, and can be accessed here.
My honours dissertation is not available online, but is held by the Queensland Conservatorium library.
